This project was completed in 2015 for the Valley Metro Light Rail system. It surrounds the power station for the system on the north side of Main St. in down town Mesa just east of the intersection with Country Club. It consists of 26 steel panels that are 12′ tall, and range from 4′ to 5′ wide. They were waterjet cut from 10 steel sheets then welded hangers on the top edge before powdercoating. The image is a very large Pecan Tree which when you are up close is a lot of holes and slots but once you back away it becomes a beautiful tree. This is the largest singe art project we have completed to date and took several weeks to program a tool path and do all of the waterjet cutting.
This masterpieces is by local artist Mary Shindell.
