This is a piece that was cut from a broken cymbal that drummers use. Because of the high temper of the alloy used in these instruments they lend themselves to cutting jewelry type pieces with very high detail with the Mini Jet head on the OMAX waterjet machine. This charm is about the size of a quarter coin and if you tried to cut this sort of image from silver or some other type of softer jewelry making material they would either bend or break in the areas where the very fine details are. An added bonus is that if you wish you can keep the original lines that are in the cymbal it adds texture or you can polish them to a high shine that almost looks like gold. I have done these for a number of customers over the past several years.
